A China Southern Airlines flight from the Chinese city of Guangzhou to Bangkok in Thailand has made an emergency landing in South China's Sanya city.

The emergency landing was due to a fire alert from one of the engines.

The flight CZ3081 has 132 passengers on board and seven crew members. A few passengers suffered slight injuries during the emergency evacuation.

The airport has re-opened and further investigation of the incident is underway.
