Health authorities have announced that China's first-ever MERS case remains in stable condition.

"Based on the incubation period of the virus, which is two weeks at most, the isolation of some close contacts can be lifted today, and some can be lifted tomorrow. If no abnormal symptoms are found by Friday, we can say that all the close contacts are safe without infection."

 

The South Korean felt ill as early as May 21. He flew to Hong Kong on May 26 and then entered the Chinese mainland by bus.
