"摄神取念" (Shè shén qǔ niàn) is a Chinese phrase meaning "to take the mind and thoughts".

The phrase comes from the Buddhist teaching of "摄心定神" (Shè xīn dìng shén), which means to control one's mind and emotions. The goal is to free oneself from negative thoughts and cultivate inner peace and calmness.
