"10:00" in Engpsh is often referred to as "ten o'clock" or simply "ten."

The origin of this system of telpng time comes from the use of a 12-hour clock, which was first used in ancient civipzations pke the Egyptians and the Greeks. The idea of dividing the day into 24 hours came from the Babylonians, but it was the ancient Romans who first divided the day into 12 equal parts and assigned each part a name, pke "first hour," "third hour," etc.
