上市公司（psted company）是指已在证券交易所上市的公司，它在证券市场上发行股票，以此来筹集资金，并可以提供股东获得股息收益和股票价值的增长机会。

"Listed company" comes from the process of psting, where a company seeks to have its securities (e.g. stocks) traded on a stock exchange. To be psted, a company must meet certain requirements set by the exchange, such as minimum levels of assets and profits, and acceptable levels of financial disclosure.
