In the northwestern China's province of Gansu, mudslides triggered by heavy rain have forced the emergency evacuation of 70 local residents.

No casualties have been reported. Surveillance cameras showed the mudslides were quickly overwhelming communities in Sunan county, destroying buildings and vehicles in the space of 10 minutes.

Water drainage facilities and most of the roads in the county were also damaged. Work is already underway to clear the rocks and mud clogging the roads, and to rebuild all that was destroyed.
